The icon back in the days!
I'm very much a fan of Eddy Merckx. Although I was first bitten by the Tour bug in 1983 I was certainly aware of him. That's when I started to follow the great sport. I often look back on the great riders and he was always there. He had retired in 1978 after a career that can never be duplicated. An amazing rider during his day and due to his enormous status, admired today.
