Canadian Catharine Pendrel proved she was the strongest to win the Women's Mountain Bike World Championships in Chambery, Switzerland.

The Canadian ladies did very well with Emily Batty (8th), Marie-Helene Premont (9th) in the top ten. Also; Jean Ann Berkenpass (30th), Catherine Vipond (31st) & Amanda Sin (35th).

This is Canada's second World XC title since Alison Sydor won in 1996.
